ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE 215 INDIGENOUS CHILDREN As news came on May 28, 2021 that the remains of 215 children were found in a mass unmarked grave on the grounds of the former Kamloops Residential School, we entered into a time of mourning for these relatives, their families, and their communities. Today's Minute for Mission which will be read later on in the service, is from the Indigenous Ministries and Justice at the United Church of Canada recognizing these lives lost and during this time, as people of the United Church to come together and take the first step of mourning and remembering. WEUC will be recognizing Indigenous Day of Prayer (June 21) during our service on Sunday, June 20.
